BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – On Friday, the French lawmakers plan to visit the Brussels municipality of Molenbeek and hold a meeting with its mayor, the RTBF broadcaster said.
The series of deadly terrorist attacks carried out across Paris on November 13 claimed 130 lives and injured over 350 people. Paris terrorist attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam, detained on March 18, hails from Molenbeek, described by Belgian press as the "crossroads of European jihadism."
Less than a week after Abdeslam’s arrest, on March 22, two suicide bomb blasts hit Brussels international airport and an another explosion shook Maelbeek metro station in the city, which killed over 30 people and injured more than 300.
