ATHENS (Sputnik) – According to Cyprus' RIK broadcaster, the Cypriot Justice Ministry and the state permanent legal service have agreed on the issue. The extradition may reportedly take up to 90 days if the hijacker opposes the procedure.
On March 29, 59-year-old Seif Eldin Mustafa, allegedly motivated by personal reasons, hijacked a plane with over 80 people on board en route from Egypt’s Alexandria to Cairo. The plane subsequently landed in Cyprus' Larnaca airport. None of the passengers or crew members sustained injuries during the incident.
Mustafa is scheduled to appear in court on April 22.
