BAKU (Sputnik) — Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan have agreed to launch work on the transport corridor project along the western shore of the Caspian Sea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Lavrov held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku.
"We have agreed that our relevant departments will begin substantive elaboration of the practical aspects of the transportation corridor project along the west coast of the Caspian Sea," Lavrov said at a press conference.
The top Russian diplomat specified that the Ministries of Transport of the three countries would look into technical and financial details of the proposed project.
