Russian Foreign Affairs Committee head Alexei Pushkov said that a complete and final exit from the Council of Europe for Russia is an extreme measure, but it is possible.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia leaving the Council of Europe is an extreme measure, but possible if a hopeless situation occurs, Russian Foreign Affairs Committee head Alexei Pushkov said Friday.

"A complete and final exit is an extreme measure, but it is possible. I don't think it's impossible. But it must be the result of a hopeless situation," Pushkov said.
