ATHENS (Sputnik) — Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras received on Friday an invitation from Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to visit Beijing in June, the prime minister's press service said in a statement.
"The Prime Minister's visit to Beijing is scheduled for June," the statement said.
Li has sent an invitation following Greece's signing of an agreement earlier in the day to sell a 67-percent share in the Greek Piraeus port to the Chinese shipping company Cosco Group (Hong Kong) Limited.
In the invitation, Li underscores the importance of the Greek-Chinese relations and the possibility of further development of the strategic partnership between the countries, according to the press service.
