WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Polish defense ministry may purchase new medium-altitude long endurance (MALE) drones for its armed forces from the US defense contractors General Atomics and Elbit Systems, Polish Ministry of Defense spokesperson Bartlomiej Misiewicz was cited as saying on Friday.
"Based on the talks with the authorities of countries which possess relevant MALE unmanned aerial vehicles, we are currently considering the following offered systems: the MQ-9 Reaper, the MQ-1C Gray Eagle and the Hermes 900," Misiewicz was quoted by Defense News.
In 2015, former Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski said Warsaw would negotiate an agreement with the United States to purchase a set of the medium-range Patriot missiles, after in 2009 the United State and NATO agreed to include Poland in its ballistic missile defense system in Europe.
