More than 80 people have been killed and nearly 250 injured as fire broke out at a temple in the city of Kollam, Kerala state, which is in India.
State Police Chief T.P.Senkumar said that the death toll in a fire caused by fireworks at the Puttingal temple has reached 84.
"We have launched a probe," Senkumar told The Indian Express newspaper.

The fire has been caused by fireworks used for temple celebrations, the Indian Express newspaper said.
According to reports, the building was completely destroyed in the incident.
