MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry have stressed the need to intensify bilateral cooperation to bolster Syria's truce, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Sunday.
"In examining the situation in Syria, the Russian Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State stressed the need for further intensification of Russian-US cooperation to bolster ceasefire there," the statement said.
Lavrov and Kerry also emphasized the commitment to increase efforts to combat terrorism in Syria, and agreed to do utmost to prevent terrorists' overseas supply channels.
Russia and the United States reached an agreement on the ceasefire regime in Syria on February 22. The truce excluded terrorist groups Daesh and al-Nusra Front.
