"[Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled Obeidi] asked his French counterpart to increase support of [international] coalition to Iraq through airstrikes and logistical assistance," Nouri said.
Obeidi also pointed at the fact that the battle against militants was continuing, and it was necessary to focus on humanitarian issues, he outlined.
"When the operations to liberate Mosul begin, there will be a lot of displaced persons, and it is beyond the power of the Iraqi government. In this regard there is a need for more support from France," the ministry’s spokesman stressed.
