PERTH (Australia), (Sputnik) — The Baltic LNG is a proposed LNG plant construction in Russia's Leningrad Region oriented at the European and Latin American markets. It is expected to be commissioned in 2018.
"Gazprom are in discussion with Shell for up to 49% equity in the project," Shell's materials prepared for the LNG 18 (International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas) read.
The LNG 18 is currently underway in Perth, Australia. The event addresses the industry's future, bringing together major energy and engineering companies and professionals from around the globe.
In mid-2015, Gazprom and Shell sighed an agreement stipulating the strategic partnership development across all segments of the gas industry. Shortly after that, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said that his company was engaged in a commercial negotiations with Shell on the potential partnership within the Baltic LNG project.
