KIEV (Sputnik) — The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's office said Monday that a person had been detained for the attempted murder of the chief expert on the MH17 case.
Ukraine's chief military prosecutor Anatoliy Matios will hold a briefing later on Monday "regarding the arrest of the killer who attempted to murder the chief expert on the case of the downed Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777," the prosecutor's office said on its website.
Flight MH17 was downed en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people on board. The local independence supporters and the Kiev-led forces were fighting in the region at the time of the crash, and traded blame for the incident.
