MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian and EU senior officials are likely to meet in May to review Moscow-Brussels bilateral relations, Russian Ambassador to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov told Sputnik in an interview.
"What was agreed with the European Union was to carry out an inventory as we say, or a stock-taking exercise, as the EU prefers to name it. This work is being done in parallel by the two sides, and when the Political Directors meet in Moscow, they will have a chance to review this and compare," Chizhov said in English.
"The meeting itself will most probably take place in May," the envoy said.
He added that Helga Schmid, Deputy Secretary General for the European External Action Service, will represent the EU at that meeting, while on the Russian side it will be Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov.
