During the trials the aircraft will be exposed to stress, testing for structural strength throughout the entire flight.
According to Xinhua, the C919 is expected to test for 13 different parameters. The tests will be carried out by experts from Shanghai.
The company did not give a time frame for the examinations, but said that once completed the C919 will embark on its first test flights with the aim of securing the necessary certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
The C919 is a narrow-body twin-engine jet airliner with 158–174 seats to be built by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China. It will be the largest commercial airliner designed and built in China since the defunct Shanghai Y-10.
The project has the extensive involvement of foreign suppliers. It has been reported that COMAC has received an order for 517 airplanes from 21 customers already.
