The video shows a leopard that strayed into the Meerut cantonment area attacking a group of laborers at a construction site on Wednesday morning, injuring them.
The injured trio has been admitted to a hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger, according to a district official.
The accident has created panic in the city urging authorities to shut all schools on Wednesday. Locals have been advised not to leave their houses, the official said.
A team of forest officials from Delhi, Bengal and Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, along with army personnel, is trying to tranquilize the wild cat but have had no luck in capturing it.
A similar incident took place in Karnau Village of Uttar Pradesh state on April 4 when a leopard strayed into the village and injured four villagers. Another leopard attacked three people at Vibgyor Public School in Bengaluru in February.
Such incidents of leopards entering human settlements in India are not unusual and have increased in recent years. Human-leopard conflicts occur as a result of habitat loss.
