As Democracy Spring protests enter their fourth day, over 600 people have been arrested in the US capital while pushing for reform of America’s voting laws, racial justice, elderly issues and labor laws.

While the protests are broadly focused on removing corporate money from politics, each day has its own specialized emphasis as demonstrators stage a mass sit-in at the US Capitol. Thursday’s protesters are bringing attention to labor issues, following Wednesday’s racial justice platform and Tuesday’s attention on the elderly.

On Monday, police made a record number of arrests. On Wednesday, the movement also earned the endorsement of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC).

"We are proud to stand with our allies calling for a democracy that is open and accountable, and a government that puts the needs of hard working people ahead of big corporations," said CPC co-chairs Reps. Raul Grijalva and Keith Ellison, according to Common Dreams.

"The issues raised by these progressive groups are the defining issues of our time."

Yet despite the scale of the Democracy Spring movement, it has received very little coverage in the mainstream media.
