MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The talks were devoted to the discussion of political settlement by the Syrians based on mutual agreement, as well as the consolidation of efforts in the fight against terrorism and the speedy restoration of normal life across the Arab republic, the statement added.
"The Hmeimim group’s representatives have confirmed their readiness for serious work during the intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva to ensure peace and stability on the Syrian land, implementation of the Syrian people’s aspirations for a better future," the ministry said in a statement.
A new round of intra-Syrian talks started in the Swiss city on Wednesday. According to UN Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, this round of talks will entail discussions on the topics of political transition, governance, and the constitution.
