MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian economy is currently in a grey area and there has been no improvement, yet the trend is positive, President Vladimir Putin said Thursday.

"Grey, because the situation has not improved but the trend is nevertheless positive," Putin said during his direct line session answering a question whether the Russian economy was going through a dark or a light period.
