On Tuesday, The Wall Street Journal reported citing US and Mideast officials that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and its regional partners are preparing Plan B in Syria that includes delivery of various types of anti-aircraft weapons to Syrian rebels.
"We make every effort to ensure the success of the negotiations. ‘Plan A’ is the only one at the moment, and it is the negotiations under the UN auspices," Jared. S. Caplan stated.
Washington has no "secret" plans for the Syrian future, he noted.
"[US] President [Barack] Obama is studying the situation ‘on the ground’ through constant contacts with our partners in the region and neighboring countries. We have before us lots of options, but the ‘plan B’ does not exist, as Obama said," Caplan stressed.
