GENEVA (Sputnk) — The delegation of the Syrian opposition group formed at the Hmeymim air base has arrived in Geneva to join a new round of Intra-Syrian talks, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
The government delegation landed in Geneva earlier in the day, which means all the participants of the proximity talks mediated by UN Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura have now gathered in the Swiss city.
Two more opposition delegations, alongside the Hmeymim group, take part in the talks — the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) and the Moscow-Cairo group.
Political transition in Syria is going to be a priority issue on the agenda of the April round of talks.
De Mistura is going to hold separate meetings with the government delegation and HNC later in the day.
