MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian airspace has not been violated even once in the recent years thanks to a high state of combat readiness of its Aerospace Forces, Vice Commander Lt. Gen. Viktor Gumenny said Friday.
"Over the last few years, there hasn’t been a single real violation of the Russian airspace border, all thanks to the high readiness of our anti-aircraft divisions," the Aerospace Forces deputy chief said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.
Russia’s air sovereignty is protected by anti-aircraft and anti-missile forces aided by radio-technical troops that monitor the atmosphere and the space beyond for potential threats.
