ROME (Sputnik) — Russian energy giant Rosneft is interested in both oil and gas projects in Iran, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Saturday.
"Both kinds," Novak told reporters, answering a question if Rosneft was interested in oil or gas projects in Iran.
"At present, there is only the understanding that it would be interesting to take part [in projects in Iran], but everything has to be examined from the point of view of economic interests. And this will be done after we study the conditions of the contract," Novak outlined.
Russia and Iran have intensified their energy cooperation following the implementation of Tehran's obligations under the nuclear deal signed last year with six world powers to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear activity.
