A major nuclear power plant in South Carolina caught fire Sunday, which led to the shutdown of a reactor.

A fire that broke out at a chemical plant in eastern Saudi Arabia claimed the lives of at least 12 people and wounded another 11, local media reported Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Saudi press agency, the incident occurred at 11.40 a.m. local time (08:40 GMT) at the Jubail United Petrochemical Company during maintenance works.

The fire left six injured in critical condition, the media outlet added.

The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
