Iran has displayed what is believed to be a part of the Russian-made S-300 air defense missile system during a military parade in Tehran, Tasnim News Agency reports.
The parade, which is held to mark the National Army Day, was attended by foreign military attaches and experts.
Tasnim reports that two S-300 radar systems, its carrier and command vehicles, as well as a crane for lifting the missiles, had been shown during the ceremony.
The launchers and the missiles themselves, however, were not shown.
The Russian S-300 long range surface-to-air missile systems recently procured by Iran were displayed in public for the first time alongside 35 other military equipment units belonging to the Iranian army's Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base, the Mehr news agency said.
The first batch of the S-300 surface-to-air missiles capable of downing jets was delivered to Iran on April 11, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.
In April 2015, Russia resumed talks on S-300 deliveries following a framework agreement on a landmark pact that aimed to ensure the peaceful nature of Tehran's nuclear program.
