The death toll from the powerful earthquake that shook coastal Ecuador has risen to 366.

MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) — The death toll from the powerful earthquake that shook coastal Ecuador has risen to 366, the Latin American state's risk management agency said Monday.

According to earlier figures, some 350 people were confirmed dead as result of the natural disaster.

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Ecuador on Saturday, with its epicenter near the town of Pedernales.
