The failure to reach an agreement on freezing oil output at oil producing countries meeting in Doha is a sign of selfishness of market participants, deputy chairman of Gazprom's management committee Valery Golubev said Monday.

What Led to Failure at Doha and How Will It Affect Oil
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday, the participants of the meeting in the Qatari capital failed to reach an agreement on freezing the oil output in a bid to stabilize global crude prices.

"<…> Yesterday's talks about the freezing of oil in Doha showed a completely unexpected result — today there is no willingness among producers of hydrocarbons to negotiate, everyone is pursuing their own selfish goals," Golubev said at Moscow International Energy Forum.

According to Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, all participants understood that a deal to freeze the oil output is necessary, but had different requirements to the deal's conditions.
