MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The oil market will become balanced once supply and demand become balanced, and not as a result of fragile agreements that can be broken, Rosneft spokesman Mikhail Leontyev said Monday.
“[Our] advantage is that the renewal of prices [on oil] will occur on the basis of supply and demand and not on agreements that can be violated or canceled,” Leontyev told RIA Novosti.
He said that people should not be disappointed or fascinated that an agreement on freezing oil production was not reached in Doha.
“There should be no illusions in regard to the ability of the partners not being able to agree,” Leontyev said.
