GENEVA (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day Xie met with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistrua.
"I said to de Mistura that diplomacy is an art of compromises. All parties have to consider requests from other sides. It will be a difficult task for both sides, but it does not mean that they should leave talks. All parties will have to make concessions," Xie told reporters after the meeting.
The new round of intra-Syrian talks began in Geneva on April 13. According to de Mistura, this round of talks is focusing on Syria's political transition, governance, and the constitution.
