GENEVA (Sputnik) – On Monday, the HNC announced its decision to suspend its participation in the talks citing serious violations of the cessation of hostilities recently and worsening of the situation with humanitarian aid access. Some members of the delegation have already left, while HNC head Riyad Hijab and some others will be leaving Tuesday.
"Some people are leaving, but some are staying, because there are many issues to be discussed with other committees. These are not negotiations, it is meeting with committees — like, on ceasefire violation or other humanitarian issues," Meslet said.
The new round of intra-Syrian talks began in Geneva on April 13. This round was supposed to focus on Syria's political transition and governance.
