Computer science students at the Technical University of Munich developed a special program that calculates the probability of death of the Game of Thrones characters.
The site developed by the students is called “A Song of Ice and Data”. The name is similar to the name of the bestselling books written by George R.R. Martin ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ which received worldwide acclaim under the adaptation of the ‘Game of Thrones’ television series.
Using the Java language and computer algorithm, the students managed to create a probability chart of sorts that can help guess the future of each of the characters. The probability is calculated based on data such as age, family name, the number of marriages of the hero, as well as his/her popularity with the readers and viewers.
Furthermore, on the site infographics are available on the books and the seasons of the show.
