"One way to mitigate the terrorists’ potential is the fight against illegal drug trafficking. Russian-African Anti-Drug Dialogue conferences are held regularly. In addition, we agreed to establish a permanent African-Union-Russia working group to combat drug trafficking," Lavrov told reporters.
The top Russian diplomat voiced increasing concern with growing threats from terrorist groups increasing their activities on the African continent "where the Islamic State actively spreads its influence and begins collaborating with other local terrorist structures."
"We have agreed to continue cooperating not only in the fight against terrorism and its manifestations, but also cooperating in curbing support for terrorism through the illegal oil trade and other goods," Lavrov reiterated.
