MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The initiative aims to secure seamless cooperation between domestic security agencies inside the European Union to prevent terror attacks and track their perpetrators, including improving joint operation planning and intel sharing within the European Counter Terrorism Centre.

"The Communication adopted by the Commission… provides a roadmap identifying a number of priority areas in the fight against terrorism where the adoption and implementation of measures proposed by the Commission, and some further action, is needed," the statement read.
The roadmap is part of a European Agenda of Security adopted by the Commission last April. The EU executive body admitted that today’s decision to endorse the first step toward a Security Union was sped up by the March attacks in Brussels and last November’s massacre in Paris.
