WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — All parties involved in the conflict in Yemen should fully implement the ceasefire agreement reached earlier in April, US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said on Thursday.
"We are encouraged by the recent cessation of hostilities in Yemen that has largely held," Kirby stated. "We continue to urge all parties to comply fully with the terms of the cessation of hostilities and to enable humanitarian access throughout all parts of the country."
Yemen has been engulfed in a military conflict between the government headed by President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and Houthi rebels, the country’s main opposition force, which have been supported by army units loyal to Saleh. The Yemen ceasefire agreement took effect on April 10.
