MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A Syrian MiG-23 Flogger fighter-bomber crashed on Friday morning near an area controlled by Islamic State terrorists outside Damascus, likely cause was a technical failure, a source in Syrian militia reported.
"A MiG-23 crashed in East Ghouta outskirts of Damascus…The plane went down this morning shortly after taking off from the Dumayr military airfield," the source told RIA Novosti in a phone call.
"Most likely, the MiG-23 crashed due to a technical failure. The crash site is located between Bir al-Qasab and Tel-Dakua, controlled by IS terrorists," the source added.
