MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A group of some 80 militants from the al-Nusra Front terror group has crossed into Syria’s northern Idlib province from Turkey, the Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday in its weekly bulletin.

"According to the information from civilians, [a] unit of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist grouping (more than 80 militants) has arrived in Idlib province from the territory of Turkey," the Russian military said.

Alongside the Islamic State (Daesh) group, al-Nusra Front is not part of the ongoing ceasefire in Syria, which was mediated by the United States and Russia in February.
