HOMS (Syria) (Sputnik) – The Syrian army repulsed terrorist assaults on western districts of Syria’s city of Aleppo, a military source told RIA Novosti on Sunday.
"The Syrian army rebuffed the attack of terrorist groups on the front of Rashidin… Militants trying to break into the area of Dahiyat Assad have been identified and repelled," the source said.
According to the source, the terrorists shelled residential areas of the districts, but Damascus forces destroyed their rocket launchers and cars with ammunition by employing aviation and artillery.
Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad fighting several opposition factions and extremist groups, including Daesh, which is outlawed in Russia, United States and numerous other countries.
