MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Iran is currently in talks with Russia on the sale of heavy water from its nuclear power projects, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hussein Jaber Ansari said Monday.
“The negotiations with the United States were of a technical character and we recently announced the agreement. At the same time we are holding talks with the Russian government on the sale of the remainder of the heavy water,” IRIB television quoted Ansari as saying.
The United States and Iran are expected to finalize a deal for Washington to purchase an estimated $8.6 million worth of heavy water to help Iran comply with its nuclear agreement.
