MOSCOW (Sputnik) — After international sanctions imposed on Tehran were lifted in January, NIOC stated that it began negotiations with Royal Dutch Shell, Vitol, BP, MOL, as well as Italy's Eni and Saras energy companies on potential exports of crude.
"In case of reaching an agreement, crude will be sold to BP in order to supply one of its refineries in South Africa or in other parts of the world," Mehr news agency quoted Ghamsari as saying.
The United Nations, the European Union and the United States lifted nuclear-related sanctions from Iran following Tehran's implementation of its obligations under the nuclear deal signed last July with six world powers to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear program. The move has restored the Islamic republic’s access to the global market.
