Heavy Floods in Ecuador Kill Four People – Ministry
Ecuador, which was recently hit by a powerful earthquake killing hundreds of people, has been affected by another disaster, as the overflowing of two rivers claimed the lives of four people in the central region of Andean, the country’s National Secretary of Risk Management said.
MEXICO (Sputnik) — The overflow of the Damas and Toachi rivers due to heavy rains also caused several landslides, as well as trapped buses and cars in the mud.
"Situation Report # Alluriquin # SantoDomingo four confirmed dead and 300 affected," the ministry’s message published Tuesday on Twitter reads.
According to the ministry, the floods damaged at least 65 houses in the affected area.
