It is the responsibility of the French government to address the issue of public security and that of goods in light of the fact that the immigrant population is growing in the country, a National Front member of the European Parliament told Sputnik Tuesday.

European Commission Rules Out Any Possible Deal With Russia on Migration
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Sputnik released a poll that found 64 percent of French residents consider migrants from the Middle East and Africa to be a "significant" source of crime in France.

"The security of goods and people is the responsibility of the government. So it should accept its mission of authority and public service by taking draconian measures on the matter: stop immigration, control the borders, provide additional means to judges, police and the army. Strengthening intelligence is also a major objective to anticipate situations," Louis Aliot said.

He stressed that all the problems should be settled by government officials. Otherwise there would be "impotence, anarchy and chaos."

"Starting with the moment when immigration becomes unassimilable economically and culturally, the conflict factors multiply and the risks of crime increase," he added.

Europe has been plagued by an unprecedented wave of migration that saw over 1.83 million arrivals from impoverished and war-torn regions in the Middle East and Africa last year. A number of the November 2015 Paris attacks and the March 2016 Brussels attacks suicide bombers and shooters were either Europeans who had fought alongside extremists in Syria or foreign nationals who had taken advantage of the migratory route in place in Europe to perpetrate the acts of terror.
