MOSCOW (Sputnik) – During Obama’s visit to Hanover, Germany, on Monday, he said the expansion of NATO's military presence along the Russian border is not a reason for Moscow to worry.
"In regard to who is a threat to whom, it should not be forgotten what has been constantly heard over the last few years both from Brussels and from the members of the leadership of this organization, I mean NATO, concerning statements that it is Russia that they consider to be a threat. And these statements are not limited by words alone, but also we see steps being made in boosting military potential and military expansion toward Russia's borders, so here in this case it’s enough to take into account facts that are obvious," Peskov told journalists.
Moscow has repeatedly warned that NATO's amassing of troops and equipment on Russian borders is provocative, contrary to previously reached agreements and can destabilize the region.
