Lennart Karlsson, currently seated in the city council of Habo, was confirmed as the man behind the alias UNObserver, which contributed more than 11,000 comments on websites Exponerat and Avpixlat, both of which have been branded "hatemongers" in Sweden. In his comments, Karlsson aka UNObserver allegedly confessed to war crimes apparently committed during his UN service.
Karlsson, who admitted to creating the account to Jönköpings-Posten, claimed the events occurred when he was a refugee coordinator, election observer and camp manager on assignment in the Middle East and North America. According to UNObserver's own admission, he has "personally defended churches of various kinds in many countries."

"We did not usually intervene in the countries' internal affairs, but it actually happened a few times when we arrived too late, after which we locked and barricaded the doors, so that at least the vandalizing Muslims burned to death when fire bombs exploded. Sadly enough, this quickly reduced the number of fires," UNObserver wrote in one of his posts as quoted by Expressen.
In another comment, he basically admitted having fired towards muezzins. These should have survived, according to under UNObserver's own comment.
"I got to learn from two Finns, how you quiet a muezzin. Unfortunately, it is illegal to even mention it in Sweden, but it all became quiet. Allah's servants survived but never got upstairs again!" he wrote as quoted by Nyheter Idag.

"Besides, I have not worked directly for the UNHCR, but for an American organization linked to US defense," Lennart Karlsson told Jönköping-Posten.
In a subsequent interview with Swedish Television SVT he admitted having started the account in question, but renounced the crimes that he allegedly committed while on international duty, claiming the account probably was subjected to a hacker attack.
"There are 11,000 comments under my name, while I have only left some 400. So, 10,600 comments are obviously not mine," he said.
