WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Clinton defeated Sanders in the Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland primaries although she was narrowly defeated by him in the small state of Rhode Island with the result in Connecticut still to be declared.
“Wall Street can never again be allowed to threaten Main Street,” Clinton told a victory rally in the city of Philadelphia after winning the Pennsylvania state primary against Senator Bernie Sanders on Tuesday night.
Clinton used her speech to reiterate her commitment to a wide range of liberal-progressive reforms and social issues and promised if elected to push through legislation that would overturn the notorious Citizens United decision of the Supreme Court to allow unlimited funding of US elections.
“We should expand social security, not privatize it… We can renew our democracy by overturning Citizens United. We can lift up people who’ve been left out in every industrial community hollowed out when the factory closed,” she said.
