WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US media corporation Comcast is acquiring DreamWorks Animation in a $3.8 billion deal, NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke said in a press release on Thursday.
"DreamWorks will help us grow our film, television, theme parks and consumer products businesses for years to come," Burke stated.
The animation studio stockholders will receive $41 for each share of DreamWorks Animation common stock, according to the press release.
The acquisition deal is scheduled to close by the end of 2016. DreamWorks will operate under NBCUniversal division of Comcast.
