BEIRUT (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, media reported that a Syrian government airstrike against the Al Quds hospital in the northern city of Aleppo killed dozens of people.
"Reports on bloodshed as a result of a [Syrian Army] airstrike against a hospital in the Sukkari district of Aleppo broadcast by several media are not true. Such reports are an attempt to cover terrorist offenses," the statement reads.
Earlier in the day, the international humanitarian group Medecins Sans Frontieres, or Doctors Without Borders, said that at least 14 people, including at least three doctors, were killed in the airstrike. The charity did not indicate whether Syrian government or rebel forces were behind the attack on the hospital.
According to rights groups, the number of those killed in the attack has already reached 27.
