Lewis Carroll's books have captured the minds of millions of people across the world and now some of them will have the opportunity to own one of these rare items.
In an exclusive interview with Sputnik, a spokeswoman from Peter Harrington said the collection that contains some first editions would go on sale this weekend.
"It was the collector who collected it for a number of years and they came to us with these items. We knew of him prior and we finally got hold of them…" the spokeswoman said.
There are 69 items on sale all together, a collection of books and letters, the items certainly come with a hefty price tag.
"The most expensive item is the first edition of Alice in Wonderland and it costs £57,500 [US$84,062]," the spokeswoman said.
"It [the collection] contains books and letters and they are inscribed copies — and rare copies. Some have been unheard and unseen of before."
In a recent interview, the owner of the rare bookshop, Peter Harrington, said that Alice was 'hot' right now.
"A first edition has always been expensive, but not necessarily hard to get hold of. We would generally have four or five in stock. However, all of that has changed in the past 12 months. We've actually sold out. All the collectable 'Alices' have gone and the market has completely moved."
