WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Russia and the United States brokered a "regime of silence" earlier that will be implemented in the Damascus’ suburbs for 24 hours and in the northern Latakia province for 72 hours at midnight on April 30.
"There's no change to the Department of Defense's overall mission: to train, advise and assist local forces in the fight against ISIL [Daesh]," Rankine-Galloway stated on Friday.
Rankine-Galloway also noted that the regime of silence in Syria "will not impact our counter-Daesh operations, as it is occurring outside of areas plagued by Daesh."
Moscow and Washington said earlier on Friday they would be the guarantors of the regime of silence in Syria.
