BEIJING (Sputnik) — Malaysian Police with the assistance of the Chinese security forces sent 97 people suspected of fraud in the telecommunications sector to China, media reported Saturday.
The suspects are involved in over 100 crimes in the telecommunications sector in over 20 provincial areas of Chinese mainland, according to the Xinhua news agency.
Some 32 suspects are Taiwanese citizens.
In late March, Chinese and Malaysian police jointly investigated five transnational telecommunication fraud cases and arrested a total of 117 people.
