MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A freight train derailed in northeastern Washington, DC, resulting in several cars leaking hazardous materials, the District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (DCFEMS) said Sunday.

"CSX Train derailment — NE DC — 3 cars leaking some hazardous material(s)," the DCFEMS wrote in its official Twitter account.

The local police have closed two streets close to the incident, according to the emergency service.
