Jean-Marie Le Pen, the founder of France’s National Front party, predicted that the faction, currently headed by his daughter Marine, would lose in next year’s elections over lack of unity.

"There has been no sign sent in the direction of reconciliation," Jean-Marie Le Pen said in a speech Saturday as quoted by Radio France Internationale, adding that without unity the party "would be beaten in the second round, maybe even the first."

Jean-Marie Le Pen has been feuding with his daughter Marine after he made comments suggesting that Nazi gas chambers, used to kill Jews in the Holocaust during the Second World War, were "merely a detail in the history."

In August 2015, Jean-Marie Le Pen was stripped of his membership in the right-wing party.
