ASHGABAT (Sputnik) — Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a set of documents aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation in various spheres, the Turkmen government said on Monday.
In particular, the sides have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of security, a memorandum of cooperation in the field of trade and industry, a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the government said, as quoted by the Trend news agency.

The agreement on security cooperation is of great importance, as Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia are actively opposing terrorism, organized crime, and drug trafficking, the statement said.
The bilateral talks touched on the issue of possible joint operations of the military, law enforcement and other agencies of the two countries to ensure regional safety.
The sides also signed an agreement on air communication and convention on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion.
